Could you teach children to read without books?
Teachers in some parts of Africa are so grateful for any gifts of age-appropriate books for their students. To be able to work with their students using books makes all the difference in the world to the teachers–and to the students.

We rather take those stacks and stacks of books for granted in our public libraries.
During the time of hyper-inflation in the cities and towns of Zimbabwe, the public libraries could not buy anything to stock their shelves for their citizens to read or reference. They had no money to buy materials. They continue to be in dire need of all types of books for readers of all ages.
